Genoa striker Alberto Gilardino says he is pleased his form has drawn interest from other clubs but insists he’s happy at the Rossoblu.

The Italian is reportedly on the wishlist of Toronto FC but the 31-year-old has quashed rumours that he may leave the Grifone in January.

“It’s always a good thing that people are talking about me,” the ex-Parma, Milan and Fiorentina poacher stated.

“However, I’m a Genoa player and I want to remain here, always doing well in the process.”

Gilardino scored his fifth goal of the season in Wednesday’s 1-0 win against Parma and he also missed a penalty and the veteran was pleased to bring home the three points for the Grifone.

“It was a really intense tie.”

“The win was so important as it has allowed us to take a step forward.

“What we showed out there on the pitch is what the fans want to see.”

Genoa are set to square off against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.
