Paolo CannavaroNapoli and Inter could be set to swap defenders Paolo Cannavaro and Andrea Ranocchia in the January transfer window.

The Azzurri have been looking for a defensive reinforcement since the summer and it appears as though Ranocchia is the latest name to be linked with a move to the south of Italy.

Sky Sport reports that Cannavaro, who has found playing time hard to come by under the Spanish tactician, and cash could be offered to the Nerazzurri for Ranocchia once the transfer window reopens.

The move would also reunite Cannavaro with coach Walter Mazzarri, as the duo worked together for four seasons at the Partenopei.

Cannavaro has made four league appearances for the Azzurri this season while Ranocchia has featured in 11 Serie A matches for the Beneamata.
