Lorenzo Insigne - NapoliNapoli forward Lorenzo Insigne has praised former coach Zdenek Zeman for all he’s taught him in the world of professional football.

The 22-year-old shined under the Czech tactician at Foggia during the 2010-11 season and then Pescara during the 2011-12 season, where the two were important parts in leading the team to a Serie B championship and a promotion to Serie A.

Insigne spoke to Guerin Sportivo and praised Zeman for his coaching qualities, while also commenting on former Napoli boss Walter Mazzarri and current boss Rafa Benitez.

“I consider Zeman to be my teacher in football,” said the Italian international.

“He was the first great person in football to believe in me. On a personal level, Zeman is very different to how he comes across. He’s far less serious.

“Mazzarri was demanding, whereas Benitez is much more of a happy medium.”

Zeman has been out of work since being sacked by Roma in February of this year, though rumours have linked him with a move to struggling Sampdoria, who recently sacked coach Delio Rossi.
