The departure of long-term goalkeeper Victor Valdes from Barcelona at the end of this season could see the door open for on loan Liverpool man Pepe Reina to make the switch to Camp Nou.
The 31-year-old goalkeeper, on loan to Napoli, previously played for Barcelona between 2000 and 2002, and a return to the Spanish club has long been rumoured as a possible destination.
Despite the persistent rumours, tuttonapoli.net claims that there has been no contact between Reina and Barcelona, and that any potential move would have to wait until the seasons end.
Reina, who’s contract with Liverpool ends this summer, has been in good form for Napoli and has currently made 12 league appearances for last season’s Serie A runner up.
Reina, who has made 285 league appearances for Liverpool, switched to Serie A last summer to reunite with former coach Rafael Benitez after a drop in form for the Merseyside club.
