Parolo – Parma

Roma and AC Milan are both reportedly interested in acquiring the services of Parma midfielder Marco Parolo after witnessing the ex-Cesena man’s excellent early season form.

The 28-year-old Italian international, who made his Serie A debut whilst playing for the Seahorses at the age of 25, has already equalled his record goal tally from the 2010/11 campaign by contributing five goals to the Ducali cause, including a crucial brace in a 3-2 victory over Milan in week nine.

According to Sportparma.com, although there hasn’t yet been any contact between the player’s club and any interested parties, Parolo’s exploits in Emilia-Romagna have alerted the attentions of two of Italy’s biggest teams, with the Giallorossi and the Rossoneri both circling for his signature.

The Como youth product is apparently well liked by Lupi coach Rudi Garcia and Diavolo tactician Massimiliano Allegri, but the Crociati mediano has expressed his desire to remain under current boss Roberto Donadoni’s tutelage in order to earn a place in Cesare Prandelli’s Italy squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Parolo is now in his second season at Parma following his move from Cesena in 2012, and has thus far managed eight goals in 47 games for the Emiliani.
