Torino confidently defeated Catania 4-1 at the Stadio Olimpico in Serie A action on Sunday afternoon.

Omar El Kaddouri earned a brace, while Ciro Immobile earned a goal and an assist. Emiliano Moretti also got on the score sheet for the hosts, while Sebastian Leto was the only Rossazzurri player to get on it.

Torino gained control of the game right from kick-off, with Immobile coming close to opening the scoring, but he flashed his shot wide after a brilliant run into the box.

The former Juventus youth product had another opportunity to score a few minutes later, but he hit the woodwork before Danilo D’Ambrosio sent the follow up over the bar.

The third time was the charm, as Immobile won the ball off of Nicola Legrottaglie, darted towards the goal all alone, and calmly slotted it past Mariano Andujar to make it 1-0 for the hosts.

Tiberio Guarente nearly responded for Catania, but his effort from outside the box just missed the far post. Immobile, meanwhile, nearly earned his brace directly after that. He too had his shot go just beyond the frame of the net.

El Kaddouri doubled the advantage with a shot into the bottom corner after another chance wasted by Torino.

After the restart, it was the Rossazzurri who took the reigns. That early pressure paid off as Leto, who made no mistake fr0m inside the box, cut the lead in half.

The affair got a bit heated when Daniele Padelli hauled down the Catania goal scorer well after the whistle for offside blew. The two players argued, which resulted in both getting booked.

Il Toro then struck off a corner, Moretti got his head to the ball, capitalizing on some dreadful defending by the visitors to restore the two goal advantage.

Minutes later, Immobile was causing a ruckus yet again, but was stopped brilliantly by Andujar. However, the Etnei defence failed to clear away the danger, leaving El Kaddouri all alone to pounce on the error.

Maxi Lopez tried to light a spark for the Elefanti, and managed to record a shot, but Padelli was equal to the task, showing off his reflexes.

Both teams continued to play and created plenty of chances, but the score line remained the same as Torino earned an impressive victory.
