Manchester City Reserves manager Patrick Vieira believes that the club should have made a move for Paul Pogba before Juventus did.
The Bianconeri landed the 20-year-old midfielder in 2012 after his contract with former club Manchester United expired, and he’s since made a big name for himself at the Serie A side, even securing a spot with the senior France international team due to his talent.
Vieira spoke to L’Equipe and praised The Old Lady starlet’s skills, while also commenting on his own future.
“He’s a player I really like,” said the 37-year-old, who also played for Juventus as a midfielder during the 2005-06 season.
“I saw him play with Manchester United and to not have signed him when he left the Red Devils was a huge mistake because he’s an extraordinary player.
“Many people tells me that he plays how I used to, but I think he’s more attack-minded than I was and probably more technically gifted.
“My future? When I stopped playing, I didn’t know what to do. Then I spoke to Manchester City and now I’m happy here, even though I had proposals from France and the United States.”
