Roma defender Nicolas Burdisso could leave the Giallorossi in January after stating he will consider his future with the club.

With the World Cup in Brazil looming, the Argentine is reconsidering his options after finding it hard to hold down a regular starting berth in Rudi Garcia’s team.

“I will do all I can to be part of the World Cup squad,” Burdisso told Corriere dello Sport.

“If necessary, I’ll even think about leaving Roma. I’ll decide after Christmas.”

Burdisso admits he loves the club, and that his role goes beyond playing games so he can’t be certain of his future just yet.

“I’m very attached to this club and city. I have a role at Roma and the amount of games I play is not the only thing that matters, even if I want to return to the Argentina side.” Burdisso said.

“Roma are doing very well this term, things are working and it’s all very positive. I’ve been feeling in good shape since the summer and I just need to be patient.”

Burdisso has notched up a mere three Serie A appearances during this campaign and hasn’t featured for La Albiceleste for over two years.
