Bologna coach Stefano Pioli has admitted he is disappointed after his side were eliminated from the Coppa Italia after falling 2-1 to Serie B side Siena.

The Rossoblu, who sit in 17th in Serie A, equalized thanks to a late goal from Davide Moscardelli but conceded a winner deep into extra time courtesy of Zouhair Feddal.

The 48-year-old tactician used the Coppa match against Siena to experiment with his team but according to Pioli, only a few players used the occasion to leave a good impression.

“I’m not happy, in fact I am disappointed and angry because I expected more,” Pioli told reporters.

“From what I saw in the newspapers I was expecting a different performance.

“Some guys used the occasion to impress me, some did not.

“I will make my evaluations because we wanted to go ahead and instead we are out.”

Bologna have to recover soon as they host table leader Juventus on Friday at the Stadio Renato Dell’Ara.
