juraj kuckaGenoa defensive midfielder Juraj Kucka is expected to be sidelined for six months after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

The Slovakian international was forced off during Genoa’s away loss to Cagliari last Sunday and scans have revealed the severity of the injury.

The serious injury will hamper the Grifone’s chance to sell him in January as he was linked with a move away to AC Milan and Galatasaray according to the Secolo XIX.

In order to fill Kucka’s absence, Genoa coach Giampiero Gasperini is likely to deploy both Francesco Lodi and Matuzalem in the midfield.

The former Sparta Prague man had scored two goals in 11 appearances for the Rossoblu this season.
