The days of  Lazio coach Vladimir Petkovic could well be numbered following his sides 4-1 defeat away to Hellas Verona as president Claudio Lotito is considering showing the 50 year old tactician the door.

Former Lazio coach Edy Reja is one of the favorites to succeed Petkovic however he remains unconvinced about returning to the helm at the capital club.

According to Sky Sport Italia a meeting was scheduled on Sunday night between Lotito and sporting director Igli Tare to discuss Petkovic’s future and reports in Italy are suggesting he could be sacked on Monday.

Another possible solution could see youth team coach Alberto Bollini take temporary charge of the Aquile while Swiss coach Murat Yakin, who is still in contract with Basel remains unavailable.

Another feasible option is former Chievo boss Domenico Di Carlo, who has been out of a job since October 2012 following his tenure at the Flying Donkeys.

Giovanni Trapattoni has also been mentioned as someone who could take charge for the rest of the season.
