Daniel Agger LiverpoolLiverpool have reportedly informed Napoli of the conditions they expect to be met before they agree to loan Danish defender Daniel Agger to the Partenopei.

The 29-year-old has is thought to have been a transfer target of Napoli for some time, with coach Rafa Benitez keen to be reunited with the central defender who signed for the Reds during Benitez’s tenure at Anfield.

According to Il Mattino, Liverpool are happy to allow Agger to head to the Stadio San Paolo in January for a loan fee of €2 million whereas Napoli had previously hoped for a deal without a fee.

The Merseyside club also wish to include a clause that obliges Napoli to renew the deal in June.

Napoli sporting director Riccardo Bignon hopes to make the most of Serie A’s winter break to convince the Danish Agger to sign for the Azzurri and perhaps more importantly to reduce his annual salary of €5m which is seen as potential stumbling block.

Agger has started seven times for Liverpool and come on as a substitute twice during the 2013-14 Premier League campaign.
