The goal celebration of Napoli striker Goran Pandev after he scored against former club Lazio was not directed towards the fans of the home side but against president Claudio Lotito.
The relationship between Lotito and Pandev has been frosty since the Biancocelesti patron refused to accept a transfer request from the Macedonian at beginning of the 2009/2010 campaign.
Pandev was ultimately removed from the Lazio first team and left the capital club in the winter to play for Inter.
“My exultation was not pointed at the fans, but against the president as we parted badly,” Pandev told Rai Sport.
“However, Lazio was a milestone in my career, I always have to thank them.”
The 30-year-old striker put his side ahead right after the break with a skillful shot, helping Napoli to a 4-2 win against Lazio.
