Sampdoria set up Roma clash after eliminating Verona in Coppa Italia

Sinisa Mihajlovic’s Sampdoria stunned Hellas Verona 4-1 to send themselves through to the last 16 of the Coppa Italia.

They will now take on Roma after that victory after the former Serbian boss picked up his first win as Blucerchiati boss.

Gianluca Sansone started the scoring early by turning home a Simon Poulsen cross before Birkir Bjarnasson doubled the advantage shortly afterwards.

Hellas gave themselves hope in the contest in the second half when Samuele Longo with a neat finish but two goals in the final seven minutes killed their hopes.

Firstly, Nenad Krsticic finished well after a fine solo run before Renan’s second in as many games in the final minute put Samp through.
