Luca Toni missed a string of opportunities for the Mastini tonight and apologized for Verona’s most recent defeat.
Verona were defeated 4-3 at the Stadio Artemio Franchi and Toni apologized to fans.
“We tried until the end,” Toni told the press. “If we concede many goals it’s not because of one department, it’s the fault of the team, all departments need to improve, from goalkeeper to attackers.
“Rafael conceded four goals but it’s not all his fault. We wanted to do the business, now we look forward to the Coppa Italia.
“Verona is having a great championship. We’re doing well in the standings in sixth, now we think ahead to the tough game with Atalanta.
“We are very sorry for the three defeats, we don’t look at the standings, our objective is to reach 40 points.”
