Italian coach Giovanni Trapattoni is opting for a return back as head coach, his desire remains coaching an international outfit.

The wily old coach wants to pursue his managerial career with an international side, possibly a World Cup 2014 qualifier.  The veteran coach is eager to get back in the game after leaving his post as head coach of the Republic of Ireland, the 74 year old departed by mutual consent in September.

“I’ve had offers to close the season with club sides, but I’m not a stop-gap boss,” He told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I’m evaluating a number of offers. I’ll certainly sit on the bench of a national side again because I’m too young for a desk job.

“I could even be at the World Cup.”

The former Inter tactician revealed he was being tracked by clubs in the United States and Japan, Trap is one of the most celebrated coaches in football history, and is one of only five coaches to have won a league title in at least four different countries.
