Udinese goalkeeper Zeljko Brkic believes that the young Juventus fans who disrespected him last weekend have realised it was a mistake.
The 27-year-old was the target of insulting chants from thousands of child Juve supporters during the Zebrette’s 1-0 loss to the Old Lady in Turin on December 1, which resulted in the reigning Serie A champions being fined €5,000.
“The fine for the children at Juventus Stadium? They wanted to imitate the adults,” said the Serbian international to Sky Sport Italia.
“They were mistaken, but I don’t want them to take the blame for it. Unfortunately in stadiums it’s become a normal chorus, but I believe that the children have now learned from their mistake.
“My return to the pitch? I’ve recovered my injury a few weeks ago. I’m happy because it was hard to be out of the squad.
“I have good relationships with my team-mates and with the defence. We’re a valid and close-knit group.
“Udinese have suffered at the beginning of the campaign, but now we’re on the right track. We have to continue like this.”
