Genoa defender Luca Antonelli admitted he was delighted with the Grifone’s 1-0 victory over Inter despite playing in torrid conditions.

The lone goal of the match was scored seven minutes before full-time by the wingback himself, who headed in the goal from a corner to seal the Grifone’s first home win against the Nerazzurri since 1994 under the pounding rain.

“It was a difficult match played in very difficult conditions. We are happy to have given joy to the fantastic crowd”, Antonelli said to Sky Sport after the match.

The 26-year-old Italian was also asked about the rumours linking him with a move away from Genoa this winter.

“I am only think about Genoa. I feel well here and don’t want to move away. The victory allows us to improve our position in the table and now we want to give everything in Florence,” Antonelli said.

Genoa’s next league match is away against Fiorentina.
