With the transfer window drawing to a close, the proposed player exchange deal which would have seen Bologna forward Robert Acquafresca swapped with Udinese wing back Denilson has officially fallen through.

Initial reports had suggested negotiations between the two clubs were underway, however the deal is now off the cards after the Rossoblu forward said no to a proposed move to the Bianconeri.

The 26-year-old Italian has actually been named in coach Davide Ballardini’s match squad to face the Zebrette tomorrow and he will now stay at the Emilia club for the remainder of the season.

Bologna travel to the Stadio Friuli tomorrow evening with both sides separated by just two points in Serie A and desperate for a win to put some distance between themselves and the bottom three.
