Bologna captain Alessandro Diamanti’s move to Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande is not dead in the water just yet.

The 30-year-old Italian international was close to a move to Marcello Lippi’s Chinese outfit last week, but the deal broke down after the two teams couldn’t agree on the fee.

Market expert Alfredo Pedulla spoke to Rai Sport however, and said: “The situation for Diamanti is open. If you have €9 million in cash then the situation can change.

“Everything depends on the finances of Bologna. There is an offer sitting at the table, it is open, it is in progress.”

Diamanti has made 18 appearances for the Rossoblu this campaign, netting five goals.
