Cagliari coach Diego Lopez refused to dwell on his sides defeat to AC Milan on Sunday afternoon despite conceding two goals in the closing moments.

In difficult weather conditions, the Isolani took an unexpected lead after Rossoneri goalkeeper Marco Amelia misplaced a clearance gifting Marco Sau the opening goal but could not hold on for victory.

“The Rossoneri are a team with a lot of quality, there is no regret for how we lost,” Lopez told Mediaset Premium.

“We tried to keep Milan away from our area, the performance by us has been good.

“Now we have to go back to work ahead of Saturday’s game against Fiorentina.”

Lopez was also insistent that rumours of president Massimo Cellino’s interest in English side Leeds United would not affect the his players.

“These are the things we do not talk of in the dressing room,” he continued.  “These matters simply do not concern us.

“Our job is to do well on the pitch, if there were to be the new president will have to communicate.

“For now, Cellino has not told us anything. ”
