Former Juventus striker David Trezeguet has said he will become an ambassador for the club in South America.

The 36 year-old Frenchman currently plays for Argentine club Newell’s Old Boys last played for the Turin side in 2010.

“I’ll [be an] ambassador in South America, reporting from time to time [on] the best talent,” he told Tuttosport. “I have already spoken to president Agnelli, I’m happy.”

“Antonio is a great [manager] and in two years [the club] will win the Champions League. To make the leap [Juventus] needs strong reinforcement and I think Nani [of Manchester United] would be perfect.”

Trezeguet played for the Old Lady from 1999-2010, making 245 appearances and scored 171 goals for the club, which ranks as fourth-most in club history. Following the 2001-2002 season he was named the Serie A Footballer of the year.
