Lazio have announced the dismissal of Vladimir Petkovic, as Edy Reja has officially been named the new Biancocelesti coach.
The Biancocelesti have been looking to sack Petkovic since before Christmas, as the tactician signed a contract with the Swiss national team which will see him take over after the 2014 World Cup.
On Saturday, the club announced the termination of Petkovic’s contract and the appointment of Edy Reja which means that Reja will now sit on the bench against Inter on Monday.
Reja had to be registered as Lazio coach before midday Sunday, or else he would not have been able to sit on the bench on Monday night, despite conducting training sessions since the 30th of December.
It is also worth noting that Reja, who will be back for his second spell, will be assisted by Alberto Bollini and Adriano Bianchini.
