Brazilian side Fluminese are being linked with a surprise move for Napoli captain Paolo Cannavaro.
The captain is out of favour this season with coach Rafael Benitez, and is said to welcome a move away from the San Paolo in January.
He has apparently been offered out to Brazil, according to Brazilian outlet Globoesporte.com, and Fluminese would be able to acquire him on a free loan for a year.
The Tricolor Carioca are yet to give a definitive answer to Napoli, as they are weighing up other targets first and the Italian defender is not seen as a priority.
Cannavaro has only made four appearances this season, being sent off once in the process.
