Widespread reports in Italy have suggested that Genoa coach Gian Piero Gasperini will continue to reshuffle the Grifone squad during the January transfer window by signing Nicolas Burdisso from Roma and Juventus’ Marco Motta.

Since the window reopened at the start of the month the 55-year-old has already authorised the departure of Francesco Lodi and Thomas Manfredini to fellow Serie A sides Catania and Sassuolo respectively.

While several sources, including TuttoMercatoWeb have confirmed the duos imminent arrival at the Luigi Ferraris the club are yet to make an official announcement, however, it is believed that Motta will arrive on loan and Burdisso has secured the permanent deal he desired.

The former Inter defender was desperate top depart the Italian capital in search of greater first-team opportunities and increase his chances of making the Argentinean squad for this summer’s World Cup.

Motta will join fellow Bianconeri full-back Paolo De Ceglie at the Grifone who also joined the club on loan from the reigning champions.
