Manchester United coach David Moyes was in attendance at Stadio Sant’Elia today to view potential reinforcements during the Cagliari-Juventus match.

The coach is specifically targeting central defenders and midfielders to help in an effort to improve the club’s current seventh place position.

Moyes’ eyes were fixed on Cagliari defender Davide Astori and Juventus midfielders Arturo Vidal and Claudio Marchisio.

Transfer rumours have circled Astori for years as the Italian international has been chased regularly by clubs throughout Europe.

The club have had a difficult first season under Moyes and have previously been linked to both Marchisio and Vidal for their midfield creativity. The 27-year old Marchisio added to the speculation this summer when he said he’d be “very proud” if United would make an offer to purchase the player.
