New Lazio coach Edy Reja has revealed that he feels at home with the Biancocelesti ahead of Monday’s match against Inter.

Reja left the capital club in June 2011, but returned on December 30 to replace Vladimir Petkovic.

The reappointment was only made official yesterday after Petkovic was controversially sacked for breach of contract.

“I do believe I’m home again, as when I returned I had the feeling I’d never been gone,” the 68-year-old tactician told his pre-match press conference.

“The team showed its affection and that too gave me more motivation to do well.

“The performances and results have not been worthy of a squad like Lazio.

“Our job is to build confidence and give precise reference points to build on.

“The players seemed a little timid psychologically, like they were holding back.”

Reja also dismissed claims by Inter coach Walter Mazzarri that his arrival will give the Aquile an advantage going into the game.

“I faced Mazzarri many times and we always had fair and intense battles,” he continued.

“He says we have the advantage because of a new coach, whereas I say he has the advantage because he has been working with the team for several months.”
