Former Lazio striker Simone Inzaghi has been named as the new coach of the Biancoceleste’s Primavera side.

The 37-year-old replaces Alberto Bollini who has filled the role of assistant coach to Edy Reja for the capital club’s first team.

Lazio revealed the appointment on their official twitter page saying: “SS Lazio announces that it has entrusted the Primavera technical team to Simone Inzaghi.”

The former Aquile forward became coach of the club’s Allievi Nazionali team soon after his playing retirement in 2010, but now takes over a successful Primavera side that currently sits top of their group and is defending the national championship.

Simone is also retracing the same coaching steps as his older brother Filippo Inzaghi, who is currently in charge of AC Milan’s Primavera after promotion from the Rossoneri’s Allievi Nazionali side.
