Pizarro – Fiorentina

Welsh side Swansea City have been linked with a potential move for Fiorentina midfielder David Pizarro.

Currently sitting in 15th position in the league, manager Michael Laudrup and his men were dealt a major blow when midfielder Jonjo Shelvey suffered a hamstring injury during their 3-1 loss to Tottenham on the weekend and now Pizarro may be brought to the Liberty Stadium as a reinforcement.

According to reports from Sports Direct News in England, Swansea have set their sights on a move for Pizarro as they have seen him as a possible player to make a move abroad.

Having yet to negotiate a new deal, the 34-year-old veteran only has six months remaining on his contract at the Viola and could go for a cheap price even though he plays an important part for the Florence based squad.

Pizarro has experience in the Premier League after playing on loan for Manchester City during the 2011/12 season where he saw them be crowned champions and it is believed that Laudrup sees Pizarro as a player of the right criteria and who can fit into their midfield easily.

The Chile international has been a regular in the Fiorentina midfield this season notching up 14 appearances in the Serie A including one goal and two assists.
