Lazio defeated Udinese 3-2 at Udine’s Stadio Friuli on Sunday afternoon in Serie A.

Antonio Di Natale gave the Zebrette the lead in the first half. In the second half, Antonio Candreva equalised with a debatable penalty and then Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu regained Udinese’s lead with a sublime volley. Andrea Lazzari scored an own goal to make it 2-2 and then Hernanes gave the away side the lead with a minute remaining.

Udinese’s Roberto Pereyra had the first chance of the game when blasted a shot over the bar after beating one defender and his team took the lead after eight minutes thanks to a penalty.

Lazio defender Luis Cavanda received a yellow card for the foul on Maicosuel and Di Natale smashed the ball into the net.

The Friulani decided to pack the defence and kept a compact shape, allowing the Biancocelesti to have the ball. Edy Reja’s side struggled for space and their passing was predictable. Things got better when the Aquile started moving the ball a bit quicker.

Senad Lulic had a shot deflected into the arms of Udinese goalkeeper Zeljko Brkic and then Ogenyi Onazi and Lulic had their shots blocked by the Udinese defence. After that Sergio Floccari turned in the box and blasted high over the bar.

Onazi had a long-range shot easily dealt with by Brkic and then Antonio Candreva effort’s went wide. Floccari’s angled shot also went straight at the keeper.

Agyemang-Badu made a run into the box but he was dispossessed and then he created a great chance for the Friulani to go 2-0 up.

At the start of the second half, Di Natale’s through-ball found Badu but his shot was cleared by Lulic and then Dusan Basta headed high after a corner.

Brkic made an easy catch after Floccari took his final shot of the match before being substituted for Ederson.

Lazio went down to 10 men when Onazi was sent-off after 54 minutes. He fouled Pereyra and picked up his second yellow card. Di Natale shot straight at Etrit Berisha and then Francesco Guidolin replaced him with Luis Muriel.

Candreva leveled the scores from the spot after 63 minutes after Klose was impeded by Maurizio Domizzi and Brkic and although Klose may have exaggerated the contact, the Azzurri international sent the Udinese keeper the wrong way, blasting his penalty into the left side of the net.

Ederson’s bending shot for Lazio just went wide but Badu gave Udinese the lead again after 68 minutes.

He won the ball in midfield, found Basta on the right, who crossed, and then the ball bounced off Giuseppe Biava on the edge of the penalty box. Badu then controlled the ball on his chest and volleyed home with the outside of his right boot.

The Aquile went in search of the equaliser, with Klose just missing the goal with a header and Hernanes testing Brkic from distance.

Lazio’s equaliser came after 82 minutes in bizarre circumstances. Lulic’s high cross was punched away by Brkic but the ball went off the shin of Lazzari and flew back into his own goal.

Lazzari tried to put Udinese 3-2 when he chipped the ball into the box but it was Hernanes that gave Lazio the 3-2 lead.

Cavanda bent a cross from the right-wing, Klose knocked the ball down to Candreva, who laid the ball off to Hernanes with one touch. The Brazilian moved left and his left-foot drive from just outside of the box gave the away team an unlikely win.
