Udinese have reportedly earmarked Fabio Borini as a replacement for Antonio Di Natale who will retire at the end of the season.

Di Natale, 36, announced on Monday that he will hang up his boots at the end of the season after ten seasons at the Stadio Fruili and the Gazzetta dello Sport believe that Sunderland’s Fabio Borini is the man being targeted to fill the void.

Currently on loan at the Black Cats from Liverpool, Borini has struggled to find consistent form in England.  He did have a successful spell at Roma in the 2011/12 season however where he scored ten goals in 26 appearances.

It is thought that Liverpool would be willing to part with the Italy Under-21 international as he has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield.

The 22-year-old has been deployed mainly on the left for Sunderland and has three goals in 18 appearances so far this season.
