Roma CEO Italo Zanzi believes that Michael Bradley’s departure from the Giallorossi has benefited both the player and the club.

The 26-year-old midfielder was sold to Major League Soccer side Toronto FC this week for a fee of around €7 million and the executive feels it was a positive move, especially with the Serie A club’s recent purchase of Radja Nainggolan from Cagliari.

Zanzi spoke about Bradley’s transfer during Nainggolan’s presentation press conference at the Trigoria training facility and praised the United States international for his contribution to Roma.

“Before I begin, I want to thank Michael Bradley,” said the 39-year-old CEO.

“He’s a great professional and has made a great contribution to Roma. To us, Michael was an excellent player, but I think it was a good transaction for both him and us.

“Our continues to be to win both today and in the future. We will continue to work with confidence along with [Walter] Sabatini, one of the best managers, and coach [Rudi] Garcia.”

Michael Bradley joined the Giallorossi from Chievo in 2012 and scored two goals in his 41 league appearances for the club during his time with them.
