AC Milan forward Andrea Petagna has revealed that he hopes to follow in the footsteps of Rossoneri legend Filippo Inzaghi in the future.
The 18-year-old played a crucial part in the Milan Primavera coach’s squad during their Viareggio Cup final win on Monday, having scored a tying goal to bring the match into extra time where the Diavolo were able to secure a 3-1 victory over the Anderlecht Under-19 team.
Petagna spoke to the press after the win and praised Primavera boss Inzaghi, while admitting that he’s happy to have helped AC Milan win the tournament.
“I’m glad that I was able to give the team a hand,” said the Italian Under-19 international.
“It wasn’t easy for me, having spent six months without really playing, but we played a great match.
“It would be my dream to follow in the footsteps of Inzaghi. He’s a great coach, like [Clarence] Seedorf.
“I’m a player of the first team, but when I was asked to come down to the Primavera team, I did it with the utmost humility.”
