AC Milan won the Torneo di Viareggio after beating Anderlecht 3-1 in the final and became the most successful team in the competition with nine trophies.

With the game being a rematch of last year’s final, in which Milan lost, this time the Rossoneri Primavera took revenge with goals from Andrea Petagna, Michael Fabbro and Alessandro Mastalli at the Stadio dei Pini, to take the title.

Milan went down to ten men and later to nine but had the strength to fight and managed a clear win in extra time.

This was the first title for youth-team’s coach Inzaghi and vice-president Adriano Galliani said, “I am feeling incredible joy. I am really happy for the boys, for Pippo and for all Milan”.

The Diavolo find themselves in ninth place in Serie A and this success of the youth team may be a bright sign for the future as many of these players could step up to the first team in the next years.
