New Fiorentina signing Anderson has revealed that he wants to stay with the Italian club for a long time.

The 25-year-old is currently on loan with the Viola from Manchester United until the end of the season, though he admits that he hopes to stay longer than that as he’s happy with the faith that coach Vincenzo Montella has shown in him thus far.

Anderson spoke to The Sun about the love he already has for the Gigliati and conceded that Red Devils boss David Moyes never gave him much of a chance to prove himself on the pitch.

“To be honest, I never really had a chance,” said the Brazilian international. “Maybe one or two, but not too many.

“However, Moyes is the manager and I respect that.

“For me, it’s better now with Fiorentina. The coach has already shown his confidence in me.

“If I can show my talents in football, despite only being here on loan, then I hope to stay here for a long time.

“Fiorentina are a great team with an ambitious project. I want to win in Florence as players of the past did, like Edmundo and [Gabriel] Batistuta.

“Everyone knows that Fiorentina can grow a lot in Italy and European competitions.”
