Marco Branca’s tenure as technical director of Inter appears finally to be coming to an end after 12 years in the job.

Changes to the management structure have been expected from new owner Erick Thohir with rumours of the former Nerazzurri striker Branca departing circling for months.

Tuttomercatoweb.com reports a settlement agreement is likely to be thrashed out by the end of the week to end the 49-year-old’s long association with the Milanese club.

Since 2002, Branca has overseen the arrivals of players such as Lucio, Wesley Sneijder, Samuel Eto’o and Diego Milito who proved vital to Inter’s historic treble winning squad in 2010.

Thohir was unhappy with his performance in the recent transfer window though, tuttomercatoweb.com claims, with the Thai businessman having to intervene to secure the signings of Danilo D’Ambrosio from Torino and Hernanes from Lazio last month.

After evaluating Branca over the first months of his presidency , Thohir will finally finalise his dismissal by the end of this week.

The role of technical director will no longer exist with transfer dealings expected to be entrusted to current sporting director Piero Ausilio with the help from outside candidates;  football agents Giovanni Branchini and Beppe Accardi just two names that have been mentioned so far.
