Catania are keen on signing Castilla’s Peruvian youngster Cristian Benevente in the summer, and adding him to the teams already large South American contingent.
The 19 year old midfielder is rated as one of Real Madrid’s brightest prospects, and only broke into the ‘B’ team this season where he has impressed with his performances.
Il Catanista reports that Catania are desperate to take the four time capped Peruvian international permanently to Sicily, but the €7 million fee that Madrid want is a major obstacle, so a loan looks much more likely at this stage.
Benavente has made seven appearances for the Castilla this term.
