Leeds United’s new owner Massimo Cellino is reportedly hoping to bring Juventus legend and current Sydney FC striker Alessandro Del Piero to Elland Road in June.

Cagliari patron Cellino’s company Eleanora Sport Limited recently bought a 75 percent controlling stake in the Yorkshire club, which will go through subject to him passing the Football League’s ‘fit and proper person test’ in the coming week.

According to Sport Direct News, the newly-instated Whites supremo will make his first move on the transfer market by bringing 39-year-old Del Piero, one of the most celebrated figures in Italian football, to the Championship club.

The 2006 World Cup winner spent 19 glorious seasons in Turin playing with Italian champions Juventus, scoring 290 goals in 705 appearances, before moving to the A-League with Sydney FC in 2012. He has been in good form so far for the Sky Blues, hitting the back of the net 21 times in 39 games.
