Napoli defender Federico Fernandez has urged his team-mates to forget about the Coppa Italia final for now and instead concentrate on Serie A.
With the Coppa Italia final in May, the Argentine international has turned his attention to Sunday’s trip to Sassuolo and ensuring qualification for next season’s Champions League.
“There is so much time ahead of the Coppa Italia final, we now need to concentrate on the league and win in Sassuolo,” the 24-year-old told Radio Kiss Kiss.
“[Priority to qualify for the Champions League?] Yes, we are in a good position and can fight for many goals, we must work well in these months.”
The former Estudiantes centre-back also shared his thoughts on club and international team-mate Gonzalo Higuain.
“Gonzalo is an absolute champion,” he continued.
“We know the quality of Gonzalo but the others up front are also very strong.
“When the team is working well, you see the true Napoli.”
