Emanuele Calaio GenoaOn loan Genoa forward Emanuele Calaio has apologised to his parent club Napoli after scoring against them to secure a 1-1 draw at the Stadio San Paolo.

The second-half substitute denied the Partenopei all three points after equalising with a curling free-kick from thirty yards.

“I’m sorry to have scored at Napoli,” the 32-year-old forward told Sky Sport Italia.

“When the coach, however, gives me the opportunity I try to give my best for this shirt, our fans deserve it.”

Calaio also revealed that he is now looking to add to his two goals for the Grifone in Serie A over the coming weeks.

“I devote the goal to my family and my son,” he continued.

“It’s my third goal from a free kick in my career, I’m sorry to have scored at the San Paolo, but this is my job and I hope to score as well in the coming matches.”
