Atalanta have announced that forward Marko Livaja has been temporarily taken out of the club’s first team due to disciplinary reasons.

The 20-year-old, who has scored two goals in his 15 Serie A appearances for La Dea this season thus far, reportedly refused to take part in warm-ups during his team’s away game against Udinese on February 23, which resulted in a 1-1 draw, and will now be punished for his actions.

The Orobici released a statement on their official website regarding the situation on Tuesday and conceded that the issued punishment will only be temporary.

“Atalanta BC announces that player Marko Livaja has been temporarily placed outside of the first team for disciplinary reasons,” read the statement.

“The previously mentioned player, during the second half of Atalanta’s Serie A match against Udinese, refused to take part in the warm-up exercises with the other players on the bench.”

Marko Livaja arrived in Atalanta from Inter during last season’s January transfer window.
