Roma reportedly Fredy Guarin + Kevin Strootman - Inter Vs. Romarejected a January approach from English Premier League side Manchester United for Dutch midfielder Kevin Strootman.

The Red Devils were keen on signing the former PSV Einhoven star during the summer, but the Giallorossi won the race for his services, paying around €19 million to bring him to the Stadio Olimpico.

According to la Gazzetta dello Sport, the English champions tried once more to sign the 23-year-old during the winter transfer window, making an offer of €25m to take him to Old Trafford, but the Lupi told United officials that they ‘wouldn’t even sit down,’ to negotiate for any less than €40m.

“Kevin is really happy in Rome and he plans to stay for a long time,” Strootman’s agent Chiel Dekker stated.

“He feels good, and he likes both the club and the city.”

While Manchester United have struggled this term under new boss David Moyes, currently lying in seventh position in the league after 24 games, Strootman has been instrumental in Roma’s excellent season thus far, contributing five goals and six assists from midfield.
