Cagliari owner Massimo Cellino has announced that he is to sell the Sardinian club soon with negotiations reportedly being at an advanced stage.

This comes after recent news that the 47-year-old Italian is set for a 75 % takeover of Leeds United, which is still pending approval from The Football League.

“I have sold the club. When the papers are done I will tell you who the new owner is,” Cellino told Sportsmediaset.

Earlier this week it was reported that the possible buyers were American investors, but it has been suggested that Cellino is in advanced negotiations with Arabian buyers.

Cellino has been the president of Cagliari since 1992.
