MLS outfit Montreal Impact are interested in signing Lazio midfielder Stefano Mauri.
The Biancocelesti captain has only recently returned for the side after serving a nine month ban for failing to report match-fixing, however, his future could lie away from the Eternal City.
La Stampa reports that a move to Canada may materialise if a contract renewal is not agreed with his present club, Lazio.
It is thought that Montreal Impact are very interested in a move and may make a proposal which could see 34-year-old Mauri join up with fellow Italians Matteo Ferrari and Marco Di Vaio, as well as former Inter defender Nelson Rivas.
Mauri has made 221 appearances for Lazio scoring 27 goals and has featured 11 times for the Italy.
