AC Milan striker Andrea Petagna has revealed that he’s working hard with the Rossoneri in order to prove himself and repay the confidence of his peers.

The 18-year-old, who played a big part in the Milan Primavera squad’s recent Viareggio Cup win, returned to the Diavolo during the January transfer window after spending the first half of the current season on loan at Sampdoria and admits that he’s ready to give his all to the club.

Petagna spoke to Milan Channel after the Serie A side’s 1-0 Champions League home defeat to Atletico Madrid on Thursday and conceded that his team were unlucky to lose, while also commenting on the importance of president Silvio Berlusconi’s meetings with the players.

“We played a great game against Atletico Madrid, maybe one of the best of the season,” said the Italian Under-19 international.

“The result is a shame, we were a little unlucky, but I think we played a great game as a team during the first half.

“The president is here in Milan and I’m fortunate enough to have seen him. His presence is important, it charges the squad and gives us confidence, so hopefully he comes more often.

“I feel his confidence, I work hard every day in order to repay the confidence that the club has shown in me.”
