Cesare Prandelli - ItalyItaly coach Cesare Prandelli expects Fiorentina forward Giuseppe Rossi to board the plane for Brazil in June.

Rossi has been out since January after suffering another knee injury but there is belief he will recover in time to join the Azzurri in their quest for World Cup glory.

Prandelli is optimistic the former Vilarreal striker will use the anguish of injury set backs as a spring board for Brazil.

“We miss Rossi and I am sure he is missed by Fiorentina too,” The coach is quoted as saying by Tuttomercatoweb.

“Rossi has great quality as a footballer, good technical abilities and he has lots of humility.

“We will wait for him until the end and I really hope he can comeback in time for the World Cup.”

Should Rossi fulfil Prandelli’s demands, he will likely play alongside AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli who, the coach believes, is playing under too much pressure.

“Balotelli is a good boy,” added Prandelli.

“However he is living in a situation where there is too much pressure which is never easy.

“But he has a good spirit and is always ready for the cause.”

Italy kick-off their World Cup dream against England on June 14.
