As increase pressure looms over adjudicating decisions, concerning the Turin derby that was played over the weekend, refereeing designator Stefano Braschi, has tried to ease tensions.

Braschi has come in support for under fire match referee, Nicola Rizzoli who mediated the fiery clash between Juventus and Torino at the Juventus stadium.

Tensions were high as Omar El Kaddouri was seen tumbling, from Juve’s Andrea Pirlo’s tackle in the concluding minutes, to make matters worse for I Granata, Pirlo only received a yellow card.

“You could not see the incident from the pitch,” maintained refereeing designator Braschi.

“Even Giampiero Ventura only realised what had happened when watching back the footage at the end of the game.

“You could only tell it was a penalty via the images of a television camera.

“Rizzoli was in a good position, just like his goalline assistant Calvarese.

“TV evidence can only help in occasions where it’s not clear if the ball crossed the line or if a foul was committed inside or outside the penalty area.

“On the field, all other decisions are down to the referee. Even then, he cannot see certain situations.”
