Roma are reportedly preparing a move for Cagliari defender Davide Astori.
The Italian international has been linked with a move away from the Sardinian club for sometime with Juventus, AC Milan and Spartak Moscow linked with moves for the 27-year-old in recent years.
Sky Sports Italia report that Roma director Walter Sabatini met with Nicola Salerno, his opposite number at Cagliari to negotiate a deal to bring the defender over.
The two clubs recently negotiated for Belgian international Radja Nainggolan and that relationship could continue to bear fruit in summer.
Astori has been a regular starter for Cagliari since his arrival in 2008, making 140 Serie A appearances and scoring three goals. He was part-owned by AC Milan until the summer of 2011.
