FIFA Agent and Brazilian football expert Eugenio Ascari believes AC Milan’s interest in Botafogo defender Doria is genuine and that he could cost less than €15 million.
Milannews.it interviewed Eugenio Ascari on what Doria would bring to Milan’s dressing-room were he signed.
“He’s a great prospect, the fact he was the team mate of Clarence Seedorf is a great benefit to the club,” he said.
“Milan have seen something worth investing in, just as Roma did when they signed Marquinhos [from Corinthians].”
Interest from Chelsea and Juventus has raised the player’s value but Ascari still thinks Milan are in with a chance.
When asked about a proposed €15 million price tag he replied: “I believe they can get him for a lower figure.
“He would be a good purchase and it would be good if he could play alongside a defensive leader to help him grow.”
Asked briefly about Milan’s frailties at left-back, Ascari recommend Udinese’s 22 year-old Gabriel Silva.
” Rather than focus on the Brazilian league, I would go for someone already tried and tested in Serie A and in this case, Gabriel Silva would be a good solution,” he continued.
“He is a player already adapting to the league and tactics of Serie A.”
Milan will be resolving Adil Rami’s future in June as the defender is on loan from Valencia with a purchase option.
