AC Milan forward M’Baye Niang has revealed his hopes of remaining with Montpellier rather than returning to Italy at the end of the season.

The 19-year-old joined the Ligue 1 side on loan during the January transfer window after failing to find his form with the Rossoneri and he now hopes to continue his career in France with his new club for now.

Niang spoke to Midilibre.fr about his time with Montpellier thus far and admitted that he wants to repay the faith the club has shown in him since his arrival.

“I hope to stay at Montpellier. I love this club, it’s like a family to me,” said the youngster, who has scored three in his 11 league appearances for the club thus far.

“When I signed here in January, I said that I wanted to play here for at least another season and this is even more true today.

“I want to repay the faith this club has shown in me.”
